Veteran Nigerian gospel music minister, Evangelist Dr. Bola Are, has recounted how she narrowly escaped being raped on five different occasions inside a church in Akure, Ondo State.
She made the revelation while speaking at a special prayer summit organized for gospel music ministers from across Nigeria held at the Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
.Recounting her experience, Evangelist Are said the incidents occurred during her early days in ministry. She explained that she had to rely on divine wisdom, vigilance, and the help of God to escape each attempt. According to her, the church environment should be a place of safety, but ungodly people can infiltrate any setting.
Using her testimony as a warning, she charged gospel music ministers to live righteously and maintain holiness in their conduct. She stressed the importance of decent dressing and proper comportment, noting that music ministers are ambassadors of Christ and must portray the image of God at all times.
Evangelist Are urged upcoming ministers to be prayerful, disciplined, and watchful, adding that a careless lifestyle could open doors to temptation and attacks.
The summit brought together gospel artists, choir leaders, and worship ministers for prayers, teachings, and discussions aimed at strengthening moral and spiritual standards in the gospel music industry.
