If Anyone Kidnaps You, Give Them My Number – Oyedepo Tells Congregation

 

Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church has disclosed that a pastor abducted from the church was freed shortly after he personally confronted the kidnappers by phone, issuing them a blunt 24-hour ultimatum.

The cleric made the disclosure during a sermon, footage of which has been widely shared online, recounting the tense exchange that preceded the victim’s release.

“One time, one of our pastors was kidnapped. When they called, I said give me the phone and I told them, in 24 hours if you don’t release him you are dead,” Oyedepo said.

He told his congregation that following the confrontation, the atmosphere in the room shifted dramatically and the abducted pastor was set free without delay.

The bishop went further to encourage church members to hand over his telephone number to kidnappers in any future abduction, expressing confidence that divine authority would compel their release.

“If anybody picks you, give them my number. If he is not cut down, then I’m not sent. You carry the same force if you discover it,” he declared.

Oyedepo also cited the case of a female member of the congregation who was kidnapped but secured her own freedom by invoking his name and setting a self-imposed deadline for her release.

“One of our daughters was captured somewhere she told them that ‘my father said I’m getting out of here latest by 7 am’, and the kidnappers started cutting themselves,” he said.
