Akin-Alabi Accepts APC Primary Defeat, Promises to Continue Grassroots Work

Hon. Dr. Demilade Akin-Alabi (Genio), a first-time aspirant in Ibadan North East, has officially withdrawn from the race following yesterday’s primary elections, accepting defeat despite what he described as “several irregularities” in the process.

In a statement released to party leaders, stakeholders, and members of his DACOF group, the political greenhorn expressed profound gratitude for the financial and moral support that enabled him to obtain, complete, and submit his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms within the required timeframe.

“Following extensive and deep consultations with close members of my family and my campaign team, we have reached a definitive decision. We have chosen to accept the outcome of yesterday’s primary elections,” Akin-Alabi said.

Describing himself as “a true democrat and a good sportsman,” the aspirant urged his passionate supporters to respect the outcome “in the absolute interest of party discipline, peace, and internal unity.”

Akin-Alabi assured that the DACOF group would continue its empowerment activities and development programmes, framing the decision not as an end but “a new chapter” for deepening grassroots political understanding.

He called on his supporters to embrace the eventual winner once officially announced by party leadership at the national level, urging a united front ahead of the general election.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, ending with blessings for Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
