BREAKING: Tinubu Constitutes 108-Man APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, Names Yari DG

President Bola Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general election, appointing former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as its Director-General.

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, was named Secretary of the council, according to a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu will chair the campaign council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as Vice-Chairman I. The APC National Chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, was appointed Vice-Chairman II.

The council also includes Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, as Deputy Directors-General for the southern and northern zones.

Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, was appointed Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, will oversee administration as Deputy Director-General.

James Faleke, who served in a key role during the APC’s 2023 presidential campaign, is returning as Deputy Director-General in charge of election planning, coordination and monitoring.

The campaign’s media and strategic communication team will be coordinated by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu. Segun Dada is also returning as Director of New Media.

Charging members of the council to work towards victory, Tinubu urged the campaign leadership to mobilise party members across the country and project the achievements of his administration.

He said, “As we march into the campaign season, we have many achievements to trumpet. Let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation.”

The President further urged the campaign team to ensure that the APC retains power in the 2027 elections, stressing that the party must prevent forces seeking to reverse the gains recorded under his administration.
