Dr. Taiwo Olajide’s Appointment as The Polytechnic Ibadan Registrar: A Quintessential Departure From the Norm

Without any conscientious effort at embellishing the evaluative acumen of the search party, screening committee and all other activities that went into the process of the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Olajide as the substantive Registrar of the The Polytechnic Ibadan, it is pertinent to state that this appointment unlike many other before it, speaks volume of the readiness of the Governing Council and the State Government to reposition the institution in a bid to fully attain its potentials.

Dr Olajide’s appointment subtly reflects the very idea that the state government has a full cognizance of the cogency of straddling academic and administrative excellence for a functional registry in  post modern educational institutions of the ilk of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

This appointment underscores the very idea that the registry will become even more effective in accomplishing the strategic goals of the state government in tertiary education when individuals who have attained the highest level of academic qualifications and excellence on the job are allowed to formulate and actualize directive policies within the institutions.

Asides being the very first PhD holder to be appointed as the Registrar of the prestigious Institution,Dr Olajide’s appointment is even more significant in the sense that overtime, she has transversed different directorates of the registry where she not only garnered indelible experience but also left landmark innovations borne out of her knack for excellence and insatiable desire to enhance efficiency.

At her last duty post in the Admissions Office, the Institution witnessed the reinvigoration and progressive transformation of the subsisting process leading to a geometric increase in the number of students consistently over a period of five years and a reversal of the already dwindling revenue of the institution.

In retrospect, one can boldly conclude that Olajide’s unwavering commitment to diligence from the inception of her employment into the services of The Polytechnic Ibadan and her recently announced appointment, is a poignant reminder of inevitability of reward for industry and purpose.

In conclusion, while it is pertinent to acknowledge that this is the time for a flurry of congratulatory messages for the well deserved recognition and appointment, it is  germane to remind Dr. Taiwo Olajide, the freshly minted Registrar, Secretary of the Governing Council and the Sole Custodian of Institutional Records of The Polytechnic Ibadan of the task ahead and the imperative of charging on with a higher level energy and resolve because ‘to whom much is given, much more is expected’.
