Adeleke, who spoke after securing another term in office, said the outcome reflected the decision of Osun residents to support what he described as the achievements of his administration.

According to the governor, voters recognised the impact of his government in areas including infrastructure, education and agriculture.

“This is a victory for the people of Osun who have stood by me and acknowledged the work I have done,” Adeleke said.

He added that the result represented the people’s appreciation of the benefits they had received from his administration, describing his victory as a gesture of gratitude from the electorate.

Adeleke pledged to reciprocate the confidence by pursuing a broader economic transformation of the state.

He said his administration would work to move Osun beyond its traditional dependence on the civil service and develop it into a commercially driven state with stronger economic opportunities.

“This win is simply a gesture of ‘thank you’. I will repay this gesture by ensuring the state moves from a civil-service state to a fully developed commercial state,” the governor said.

Adeleke also appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to accept the outcome and congratulate him.

“I expect the APC candidate, Mr. Oyebamiji, to call and congratulate me,” he said.

The governor further disclosed that President Bola Tinubu had reached out to congratulate him on the electoral victory.

Adeleke’s re-election extends his tenure as governor of Osun State and gives him another opportunity to pursue his administration’s development agenda across the state.
