Saka, who worked with Funke on her 2025 film Behind The Scenes, said he had no problem with her approach to work, describing it as necessary for managing large scale productions.

In an interview, the actor said Funke treated him well and defended her against claims that she is difficult to work with.

“I have worked with Funke Akindele, and she treated me very well. To those saying she’s strict on set, to be honest, I like it that way. I’m saying this publicly, not to gain anything.

“You have to be strong to handle a multimillion naira project, and it isn’t easy. She’s humble, caring, and she doesn’t tolerate nonsense,” he said.

Saka said Funke does not have a bad temper, adding that she is fair to people who do their jobs properly.

“It’s not that she has a bad temper. Once you do the right thing, she has no problem with you,” he said.

He also described Funke as someone who knows when to be serious about work and when to relax.

“When it comes to work, Funke doesn’t joke. But when it’s time to entertain, she’s playful. I don’t have anything against her. If you are lazy, you can’t work with her because she doesn’t like laziness,” he added.

Behind The Scenes was released in Nigerian cinemas on December 12, 2025. The film, which Funke co-directed with Tunde Olaoye, became the first Nigerian film to cross N2 billion at the box office. It later grossed more than N2.4 billion, according to reports.Nigerian history books

The film’s success added to Akindele’s recent box office record. Her 2024 film Everybody Loves Jenifa also crossed N1.8 billion, while A Tribe Called Judah, released in 2023, earned more than N1.4 billion at the Nigerian box office.

Saka’s comments come as Akindele prepares for another major release, The Four, which is scheduled for December 2026.
