Woman Found Dead With Hand Cutoff Inside Church

Operatives of the Osun state Police have commenced an investigationw after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered on church premises in the Obelewo area of Osogbo with her left wrist reportedly removed.

The woman’s remains were found at the scene, prompting detectives to visit the location and begin efforts to determine her identity and establish what led to her death.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday.

Iniedu said initial findings suggested that the woman had been killed and that her left wrist was cut off and taken away by the perpetrators.

He said investigators had yet to determine the motive for the killing or why the severed body part was removed.

The police spokesperson stated, “The investigations revealed that the deceased was slaughtered and her left wrist severed and taken away by unknown persons.”

According to him, detectives were working to identify the deceased and trace those responsible for the killing.

Iniedu disclosed that the victim’s remains had been transferred to a hospital mortuary for an autopsy as part of efforts to obtain further evidence.

He added that the State Command’s Investigation Department had taken over the case and was conducting an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
