Three Drivers, Two Others Reportedly Killed During Alleged Garage Takeover in Osun

Three commercial bus drivers and two other unidentified persons have reportedly been killed at the Naira and Kobo Garage in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.

According to a breaking report circulating on Monday, the incident allegedly involved the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).
The report alleged that the DPO in Ikire, Mr Olatona Bamidele had gone to the garage to clear the road and facilitate access amid a reported attempt by suspected political thugs to take over the Naira and Kobo Garage.

The identities of the reported victims and the circumstances surrounding the deaths were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.

The allegation could not independently be verified from the police or other official sources at the time of publication.

The development comes amid a history of political violence in Ikire and other parts of Osun State. 

Previous clashes in Ikire have resulted in deaths and injuries, prompting police intervention.
