The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has introduced a new anti-corruption framework to curb unethical conduct and promote greater transparency and accountability within the organisation.

The initiative was unveiled on Tuesday at TCN headquarters in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen ethical standards across the electricity transmission company.
The framework brings together four key policies covering anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and fraud, conflict of interest, and whistleblowing.
Representing TCN Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, the Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services, Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, said the new measures reflected the company's commitment to integrity and responsible conduct.
Abdulaziz noted that TCN's role in Nigeria's electricity supply chain made public confidence and institutional credibility particularly important.
He said the company must be judged not only by its operational achievements but also by the standards guiding its decisions and internal processes.
“Integrity must remain central to the way we work, make decisions and discharge our responsibilities,” Abdulaziz said.
He stressed that combating corruption could not be left to management alone, saying employees at all levels had a role to play in building an ethical workplace.
The TCN chief also called for stronger adherence to professional standards, urging staff to make ethical conduct part of their daily responsibilities.
The four policies have been consolidated into a single document by TCN's Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
Abdulaziz urged employees to study the policies and apply their provisions when carrying out their official duties.
He said sustained compliance with the framework would help strengthen accountability and promote a corporate culture where corruption and unethical practices have less room to thrive.
