Star Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has denied being a member of the All Progressives Congress Lagos State Campaign Council after her name appeared on the party’s list of entertainment and creative industry members.

The actress took to her Instagram Story on Thursday to clarify her position, saying she had recently stated that she would stay out of politics.
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently, I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee.”
Her statement followed the release of the APC Lagos campaign council list, which included Abraham alongside veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere and Adewale Ayuba.
The names were listed under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate of the campaign council.
According to the list, Toke Benson Awoyinka is the director of the directorate, with Kosoko as co director and Badmus as deputy director. Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, is listed as secretary.
Other entertainment figures on the list include Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, Tayo Sobola, Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, known as Malaika, Akorede Babatunde Okunola, known as Osupa, and Temitope Adekunle, popularly known as Small Doctor.
The campaign council is scheduled to be inaugurated today Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Toyin’s decision to distance herself from the campaign council comes after she faced backlash over her political support in the past.
In 2023, the actress publicly supported Tinubu during the presidential election and shared her reasons for backing him. Her position attracted criticism from some Nigerians on social media, with some users insulting and trolling her over her choice.
