The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State has challenged Accord governorship candidate Oriyomi Hamzat and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop linking the party to the reported attack on Accord members in Ibadan and present their programmes to voters ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The APM said the accusations against it were an attempt by opposition parties to divert attention from their inability to convince the electorate with tangible programmes.
The party was reacting to Wednesday’s reported clash around Molete, Ibadan, where some Accord members were allegedly attacked by unidentified persons.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Amubode Tosin, the APM accused Hamzat of attempting to link the party to the incident after he was seen in a viral video holding campaign material belonging to one of its candidates.
The party condemned what it described as an attempt by Accord to drag its name into an incident it claimed to know nothing about.
It said it had moved its state secretariat away from the vicinity of the alleged attack nearly a year ago, adding that another party now occupied the former office.
The APM also claimed it did not organise any campaign activity around Molete on the day of the incident and that its members did not gather in the area.
It further accused the APC of making similar allegations without evidence, describing the party as lacking ideas to sell to voters.
The APM also took a swipe at Accord, alleging that disagreements over its governorship and other tickets had caused divisions within the party.
“Both the APC and Accord party are, however, advised to stop chasing shadows and instead be prepared to face the people of the state with the programmes they plan to implement, if they have any at all,” the statement said.
The party reiterated its commitment to peace in Oyo State and urged residents to support Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts to leave behind a state residents and indigenes could be proud of.
