​‘Otunba Akinpelu is On His Own’ - APC’s Hon. ASHAD Adetunji Debunks Defection Rumour to Accord

•Restates Ireti Otun’s Commitment to APC Victory in 2023

A stalwart of the All Progressive Congress in Oyo State, Hon. Shakirat Adebola Adetunji politically known as ASHAD has debunked the flying rumour that the Ireti Ayo group has defected to the Accord Party in the State.

Hon. ASHAD who made this assertion known in a press statement made available to newsmen by his spokesperson, Hon. Sanusi further restate her commitment and that of the socio political group to ensuring the victory of all candidates of the All Progressive Congress emerge in the coming elections.

Recall that a party member and ex member of the Ireti Ayo group identified as Otunba Akinpelu had stated that he and majority of the group has defected to the accord party, a statement the group later described as personal and unfounded by someone who was dismissed from the group for lack of competency.

ASHAD further maintained that her conviction to being part of the All Progressive Congress is made of steel and not to accrue personal wealth.

In her words, she said;

“ MY CONVICTION is made of STEEL And not of material WEALTH. Since I joined the Political Field, becoming a member of a Political PARTY in Nigeria was/is my personal CHOICE as led by the Almighty and not by a godfather, Vested-interest, nor personal gain.

“It is never a lie that IRETI OTUN GROUP IS THE LARGEST GROUP IN IBNE/IBSE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. Creating and managing ireti Otun wasn’t a day job and it hasn’t been an easy task.

“OTUNBA AKINPELU alias bakuja was the former Chairman of IRETI OTUN GROUP FOR IBADAN NORTH EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT but was removed due to his lack of ability to manage people and was later confirm not competent enough to lead the group to a promise land. 

“Mr OPEYEMI from ward 2 north east local government is our new chairman and we see future in him

According to the Nigeria constitution any individual is free to join any political party he or she wish to join.

“The Ireti Otun Family wish Mr Akinpelu best of luck in all his doings, IRETI OTUN is no more a mere group it’s now a Family,It is no more a name it is a Brand.A single person can’t single handedly claim he decamp to an opposition party with Majority of the group.I can say it with prove that he left alone just for his personal interests.

“Instead of going back to the field and work towards the forthcoming elections,all  you are  busy flying about is  a fake propaganda on non verifiable  media outlets.

In few months to come, surely,we will know whether the rumour mongers are going to lead or they will create Facebook portals for their own votes.
