PolyIbadan Gets Radio License, As REIZ 101.9 FM Set To Commence Operation

 — Management Applaud Gov. Makinde For Remarkable Impact in the Establishment

Ibadan. 

The Polytechnic, Ibadan has again break the ground running as it get approval to run her community radio station, REIZ 101.9 FM from the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

The great citadel of learning, who revealed the remarkable feat through the Rector of the Institution, Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi noted that the radio station focused on raising the standard of broadcast journalism will soon commence operation. 

Adebiyi in a statement made available to our correspondent and fellow newsmen stressed that the attainment of the radio establishment is truly necessary giving kudos to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his impacts and support towards making the station a reality adding that the station will promote the tremendous development the state government under his leadership have brought to the pacesetter state.

Feeding newsmen earlier today, the Secretary of The Polytechnic Ibadan Radio Facilitation Committee, Dr. Olusoji Olatunji noted that the approval of the Operating License and the subsequent release of the "Operating Frequency" was "the swift response of our dear amiable Governor, Engr ( Dr) Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, towards releasing some technical cum financial modalities to facilitate the birth of The Polytechnic Ibadan Radio Station REIZ FM 101.9”.

“It is a very great and historic record that this laudable feat come into reality during his tenure because the committee's convergence started close to a decade ago". He stressed. 

Olatunji further appreciated the Governor for his leadership gestures in the state and the nation describing him as "primus inter pares" in the political scene. 

He however state that " The Polytechnic Ibadan Radio Station also known as REIZ FM 101.9 will be used for the propagation of various  academic programs in the Institution(especially Mass Communication) and the various laudable programs embarked upon by the state government in general.

Speaking to newsmen, A member of staff in the Institution maintained that the Radio establishment have been long due adding that the establishment is what give more rank to the institution.

A student of the institution from the Department of Mass Communication, Adegunju Taiwo in his reaction noted that the institution has again proved that it is steps beyond contemporary institution in Southwest Nigeria, the country and the world in its entirety. Calling for professionalism in the practice, he further enjoins the management of the radio to engage professionals among the alumni of the institution.
