The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari have arrived in Nigeria from London ahead of his burial in Daura, Katsina State, later today.
The body, which departed the United Kingdom earlier in the day, was received at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina State by President Bola Tinubu, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda, senior government officials, and members of Buhari’s family.
Buhari died in London on Sunday, July 13, 2025, following a brief illness, at the age of 82.
Recall that Vice President Kashim Shettima had earlier been directed by President Bola Tinubu to lead the Federal Government’s delegation to accompany the remains of the former president to the country.
The late president is expected to be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura later today in accordance with Islamic rites.
