BREAKING: Universities Set 150 as Minimum Cut-Off Mark for 2025 Admission

Vice-Chancellors from across Nigeria have agreed on a minimum score of 150 for university admissions in 2025. The decision was reached on Tuesday during the annual policy meeting organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

With this benchmark, no candidate who scores below 150 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be eligible for admission into any university in the country.

Despite the national minimum, several institutions, including the University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, and Pan-Atlantic University, opted to maintain a higher cut-off score of 200 for their programmes.

Meanwhile, some newly established private universities proposed a lower benchmark of 120. However, JAMB’s Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, recommended a minimum of 160 during deliberations.
