JUST IN: NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).


According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Public Affairs at NECO, a total of 179,201 candidates sat for the examination, which covered 12 subjects. The exam was held nationwide from May 12 to May 23, 2025.


The results were approved following the conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting, held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.


Chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr. (Mrs.) Folake David, who is also the Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the conduct and transparency of the process leading to the release of the results.


The meeting was attended by several secondary school principals from across the country, alongside NECO management officials.


In the same meeting, the Award Committee also approved the timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit examinations.


The re-sit has been scheduled for July 23 and 24, 2025, and will cover Mathematics and English Studies.
