A tragic domestic conflict has claimed the life of an elderly man in Bauchi State after his son allegedly struck him fatally during an argument.
The fatal encounter happened on Thursday, July 3, around 10:15 p.m. in Uzum village, Giade LGA, when Limam Muhammad Baba reportedly hit his father, Malam Baba Siti, with a stick during a disagreement at their home.
Eyewitnesses say the blow to the head was sudden and forceful.
“He didn’t even cry out,” said one local resident. “He dropped instantly and never regained consciousness.”
Reports say that Limam’s actions followed a verbal exchange that spiraled into physical violence.
The victim was rushed to the Giade General Hospital, where a doctor confirmed that he had died before arrival.
Police authorities who confirmed the incident said: “At about 10:30 p.m., we received a report that a man used force on his father, striking his head with a stick. Unfortunately, the father passed away shortly after.”
The body of the deceased has since been deposited in the mortuary, and authorities are continuing with investigations to determine the full details of the tragedy.
