Politicians Think Rice Solves Nigeria’s Problems – Deji Adeyanju

Civil rights activist and political commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has taken a swipe at Nigerian politicians, accusing them of believing that rice is the solution to the country’s myriad challenges.

Adeyanju made the observation in a post X (formerly Twitter) and sighted by newsmen on Saturday.

The post is in reaction to the recent viral jollof rice cooking event by celebrity chef Hilda Baci, noting what he described as politicians’ recurring reliance on rice as a political tool.

“This is why Nigerian politicians believe the solution to all our problems is rice. Inflation: share rice; Hike in fuel price: share rice; Insecurity: share rice; Lack of electricity: share rice; Lack of good roads: share rice; Campaign: share rice; Election Day: share rice,” he wrote.

He emphasized on how food distribution has become a go-to strategy for politicians seeking popular support.
