Thirty-eight worshippers of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, have been released following their abduction during a recent attack on the church. The release came on Sunday after days of coordinated efforts by security agencies and government authorities.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State attributed the successful rescue to the “hands-on approach” of President Bola Tinubu, noting that the President personally directed efforts to secure the freedom of the victims. According to the Governor, President Tinubu postponed his planned trip to the G20 meeting in South Africa to focus on addressing security challenges in Kwara and Kebbi States, while also ordering additional security deployments to affected areas.
The Governor extended his gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force, which recently sent four additional tactical teams to the state under the President’s directive
