Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress, marking a major political shift in the state’s leadership.
The governor announced his decision on Friday during a statewide broadcast, stating that the move followed extensive consultations with political stakeholders and government officials across the state.
Fintiri disclosed that members of his cabinet, alongside key officials of the Peoples Democratic Party in Adamawa, joined him in the defection to the All Progressives Congress.
According to him, the decision was taken in the overall interest of development and to attract greater opportunities for the people of the state.
He maintained that aligning with the ruling party at the federal level would enhance collaboration and accelerate infrastructural growth and economic progress in Adamawa.
