Professor Nentawe Yilwatda has been re-elected as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, while Surajudeen Basiru emerged as the party’s National Secretary during its 4th Elective National Convention held on Friday night in Abuja.
The announcement was made by the Convention Election Committee, which disclosed that the officials were returned through a consensus arrangement alongside other members of the party’s National Working Committee.
The convention took place at Eagle Square and attracted key figures within the ruling party, including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.
The gathering was held under the theme “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” reflecting the party’s focus on strengthening internal cohesion and advancing its policy direction.
Preparations for the convention were handled by a committee chaired by former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, alongside former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim.
