Former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has picked the All Progressives Congress, APC’s 2026 Expression of Interest Form and Nomination Form for his governorship ambition in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also, the Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Sarafadeen Alli, picked his forms ahead of the party primary.
The former Secretary to the Oyo State Government was accompanied to the Abuja Continental Hotel, venue of the sale of forms, by his colleague in the Red Chamber who represents Oyo Central, Yunus Akintunde.
Speaking with journalists, Senator Alli declared that the APC would defeat whoever is fielded by the Peoples Democratic Party for the Oyo governorship race.
Naija Metro News gathered that Adelabu’s Personal Assistant, Ajiboye picked the form on behalf of his boss at the APC Secretariat, Abuja.
Recall that Adelabu recently submitted the performance report of Ministry of Power to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He later submitted letter of resignation to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Senator George Akume 22th April.
The APC camp loyal to Alli expressed that Oyo South Senator, High Chief Sharafadeen Alli is the consensus candidate and choice of the Abuja big-wigs while the camp loyal to Chief Adelabu insisted that the party’s candidate will emerge through direct primaries.
