Ibadan Poly Hosts Police Commission on Recruitment Exercise, Strengthens Partnership

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has reaffirmed its partnership with The Polytechnic Ibadan following the successful conduct of a recruitment examination and screening exercise at the institution.

The Director at the Commission, Olubusayo Okedeji, stated that the collaboration between both bodies has remained productive and beneficial over time.

The exercise, conducted in two sessions, recorded the participation of over 1,700 candidates seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force.

Okedeji explained that the institution was selected based on its longstanding relationship with the police, as well as its secure environment, conducive facilities, and central location, which makes it easily accessible to candidates.

“We have been in partnership with The Polytechnic Ibadan, and this has been a productive one for both us and the institution,” he said.

He also appreciated the leadership of the institution, particularly the Rector, whom he described as calm, peaceful, and admirable.

According to him, the recruitment examination is designed to assess candidates’ mental alertness and overall fitness, ensuring that prospective officers are intellectually capable and possess basic literacy skills.

The exercise is part of the Federal Government’s directive to recruit 5,000 personnel into the Nigeria Police Force nationwide.

Applicants are required to possess a minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, and fall within the age range of 18 to 25 years.
