The Oyo state Government has declared Tuesday 16th of June, 2026 as a public holiday.

The state government, in a circular signed by the SSG, Prof. Musibau Babatunde and made available to newsmen on Monday, said the holiday is in honour of the new Hijirah islamic calendar year 1448.
The government urged the citizens, especially Muslim faithful to pray for a continued peace and progress of the state.
Naija Metro can recall that over 1000 hajj pilgrims from Oyo State that went to the Holy Land of Mecca in Saudi Arabia in May returned safely days ago.
