Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has carried out a major reshuffle within the Nigeria Police Force, approving the immediate redeployment of 10 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) to key operational, administrative and training positions across the country.

The latest postings, which take immediate effect, are part of efforts to strengthen leadership across strategic police formations and improve coordination within the force.
A police wireless directive issued from the Force Headquarters in Abuja yesterday instructed all affected commands and departments to implement the changes without delay.
"The redeployment is aimed at ensuring experienced senior officers are positioned where their expertise will enhance policing and service delivery," the directive stated.
Among the officers affected by the reshuffle is AIG Polycarp Emeka Nwonyi, who has been assigned to head Zone 9 Command in Umuahia.
AIG Obono Nnaghe Itam will now serve as the Commandant of the Police Staff College in Jos.
Similarly, AIG Bassey Samuel Ewa has been moved to Zone 15 Command in Maiduguri, while AIG Osagie John Agans-Irabor takes over responsibilities at Zone 3 Command in Yola.
The Inspector-General also approved the posting of AIG Monday Agbonika to Zone 5 Command in Benin as part of the nationwide redeployment.
At the Force Headquarters in Abuja, AIG Daniel Edobor Iyamah has been assigned to oversee the Department of Operations, a critical unit responsible for coordinating nationwide police activities.
The reshuffle also places AIG Isah Danladi Nda at the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Kaduna, while AIG Akaniyene Ifebem Ezima has been redeployed to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja.
In another adjustment, AIG Bello Rashid Afegbua will lead Zone 6 Command in Calabar, while AIG Betty Enekpen Otimenyin has been posted to Zone 8 Command in Lokoja.
Police authorities stressed that every officer concerned is expected to assume duty immediately in line with the directive.
"The postings are effective immediately, and all relevant offices should update personnel records to reflect the changes," the internal communication added.
The directive, bearing reference number TH.5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ/SUB. X, titled Posting Senior Officers, was distributed to major departments at the Force Headquarters, including the Force Criminal Investigation Department, the Department of Operations, the Department of Finance and Administration, and the Department of Information and Communication Technology.
It was equally forwarded to all 17 zonal commands, commissioners of police in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, tactical units, police colleges, training institutions and other formations across Nigeria to ensure prompt implementation of the redeployment.
