Ayandele Tackles Makinde’s Commissioner, Says Ibarapa Will Deliver Massive Votes for APC

Dr Olusola Ayandele, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has described Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters Ademola Ojo’s claim that the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) controls Ibarapa politically as an illusion, insisting that the APC will win the zone with massive votes in 2027.

Ayandele said Ojo, popularly known as Ijaya, was only claiming political strength that he did not possess at the grassroots, adding that the people of Ibarapa were prepared to support the APC and its candidates in the next general election.

He said the era when politicians could rely on propaganda and manufactured political structures to deceive voters was over, insisting that the people had become more politically conscious.

“The people of Ibarapa are wiser, more politically conscious and determined to make a clear choice in 2027. They will not be deceived by political grandstanding, rented structures or claims of popularity that do not exist at the grassroots,” Ayandele said.

The APC chieftain said his recent mobilisation efforts, alongside other party stakeholders and supporters, reflected the party’s growing acceptance across Ibarapa, adding that more political stakeholders were identifying with the APC.

He challenged Ojo and the APM leadership to stop taking the people for granted, saying political strength would ultimately be determined by votes cast at polling units rather than claims made at political gatherings.

“I can say categorically that APC will win Ibarapa with massive votes in 2027. We are not making this declaration out of arrogance but from our interaction with the people and the growing strength of the party across the zone,” he said.

Ayandele urged APC members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation, expressing confidence that the party would defeat the APM and other opposition parties in the zone.

He also advised Ojo to prepare for the political contest instead of continuing to live in what he described as an imaginary political world, adding that the 2027 election would distinguish political noise from genuine electoral strength.

“We welcome Ojo to the political contest. Let him continue to make his claims, but 2027 will be the ultimate test. When the votes are counted, the people of Ibarapa will demonstrate clearly where their confidence lies,” Ayandele said.

He added that the APC was approaching the election with a message of renewed hope, development and inclusive governance, expressing confidence that Ibarapa voters would support President Bola Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and other APC candidates.
