Justice Mohammed Umar struck out the eight-count charge against Adeyemi on Monday after the Federal Government applied to end the case to pave the way for his arraignment before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.

The application was moved by the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who represented the prosecution.

Oyedepo informed the court that a review of the case by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice had revealed issues with the charge originally filed by the Inspector-General of Police.

He said the review showed that the alleged forgery of documents linked to the operation of the purported agency should be prosecuted at the FCT High Court rather than the Federal High Court.

The prosecution consequently sought the termination of the case at the Federal High Court to allow the matter to proceed before the court considered to have the appropriate jurisdiction.

The ruling ends the current proceedings at the Federal High Court but leaves the Federal Government free to pursue the allegations through a fresh arraignment at the FCT High Court.

Adeyemi has not been convicted of the alleged offences, and the striking out of the charge does not establish his guilt or innocence.
