Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State was on Tuesday officially sworn in for a second term during a ceremony at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.
Soludo, who took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, was received by a host of dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku, and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Several other state governors were also in attendance.
The inauguration followed Soludo’s victory in the November 8, 2025, governorship election, which was officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Soludo polled 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu, who scored 99,445 votes.
The Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, came third with 37,753 votes.
