Oyebamiji urged APC members and supporters across the state to avoid violence and remain peaceful while the party examines the election results.

He also called on security agencies to investigate alleged attacks on APC supporters, warning that rising tensions could worsen the post-election situation.

According to him, reports of violence against party members have increased since the election, making urgent intervention by the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies necessary.

“The election may have ended, but our responsibility to protect our people and promote peace remains,” Oyebamiji said.

The former commissioner acknowledged that the APC had entered the election hoping for a different result.

However, he said the party would respect the position announced by the electoral authorities as it conducts its review.

He also expressed support for the APC’s decision to examine the outcome of the election before deciding on its next course of action.

Oyebamiji thanked voters who backed his candidacy, as well as APC leaders, members and campaign volunteers who worked throughout the election period.

He described their commitment to the party’s campaign as a demonstration of confidence in its proposed development agenda for Osun State.

“Your support, sacrifices and belief in what we presented during the campaign will not be forgotten,” he said.

While the election campaign has ended, Oyebamiji maintained that the issues raised during the contest should remain part of the state’s political conversation.

He said the APC would continue to advocate policies aimed at achieving inclusive, effective and faster development across Osun.

The APC candidate further encouraged party members to remain engaged in their communities rather than allowing the election outcome to discourage them.

He said supporters should continue organising and contributing to the collective interests of the state while remaining vigilant.

Oyebamiji, however, raised fresh concerns over alleged attacks on APC members before and after the election.

He said the situation had allegedly worsened within the 24 hours preceding his statement and urged authorities to act before the violence escalates.

“The reported attacks require immediate attention from the authorities. Security agencies must protect citizens and ensure that political disagreements do not become a source of violence,” he said.

Despite the setback at the polls, Oyebamiji said he remained proud of the APC campaign and grateful to everyone who contributed to it.

He urged supporters to accept the immediate outcome peacefully while the party continues its internal assessment of the Osun governorship election.
